How to Destroy Angels: Welcome Oblivion (Columbia, 3/5/13)
After a buzz-building set at Coachella last month, select US cities (plus Toronto) got to witness the visually stimulating stage show from How to Destroy Angels, Trent Reznor’s new band with wife Mariqueen Maandig and serial collaborator Atticus Ross.
Semi-obfuscated, the band performed its pop-infused post-industrial to amorphous shapes and colors bent around long, hanging strings of filament or plastic that opened and closed throughout the set. Lost in Concert photographer Brendan Shanley documented the band’s stop at the Vic Theatre in Chicago.
