Kings of Leon: Aha Shake Heartbreak

At first glance, Kings of Leon appear to be just another one of countless rock revival bands, many of which seem to be cooked up by scheming majorA&R men. Then the vocals kick in and you realize that there is something that distinguishes this band from the countless others of their ilk.

Once I got swept up with the slight southern drawl of the almost unintelligible vocalists, I noticed that the music, while not quite as unique, fits perfectly with the vocals. With lyrics that are as difficult to understand as the vocals that convey them, all that is certain is that this is a record about sex and having a good time, without the in-your-face approach of Andrew WK.

It’s more of a “Hey, let’s hang out and have a good time my friend” vibe. I like that vibe. I like good times. At the end of it all, I like this record too.
