L.E.G.A.C.Y. is another emcee who is a part of The Justus League, and after burning up the crew’s mixtapes, he steps forward with his first full-length solo album. Lyrically, on the first half of the album L.E.G.A.C.Y. wants to prove to listeners that he can tear a part a track with razor sharp rhymes; though it’s on the second half that we start to learn about his darker personal side.
There has been a lot of pain and hardship in L.E.G.A.C.Y.’s life, and he is not afraid to share it with his audience. The balance of braggadocio and introspection complement the album and provide a three dimensional portrait of the artist. Last but not least is the outstanding production provided by 9th Wonder and the underrated Khrysis.
If you’re a fan of The Justus League or if you enjoy hip hop that gives you the feel of Tribe or De La with a slightly harder edge, then give this a listen.
