It must be kind of weird to be in Beachwood Sparks and The Tyde at the same time, since neither band sounds like anything else out there, but both could easily be compared to each other. Playing easy going, mellowed-out guitar rock with super sweet vocal harmonies a la The Byrds is what these folks do best, and Three’s Co. is no exception.
If there were a present day version of The Beach Boys, it would be these dudes – but a lot less lame. The music created by The Tyde is somewhat more focused and less hazy than the music created by their Beachwood Sparks counterparts, but unfortunately, the two bands are so similar in style that it’s difficult to define either band’s signature style. The good news is that this stuff is easy to enjoy by anyone who appreciates light guitars and well-sung harmonies.
