American Illustration 25

Five judges review 6,500 illustration entries to choose the 322 “most striking pictures of the year” in the twenty-fifth edition of American Illustration. This collection, coveted by student and professional illustrators around the globe, marks 25 years of highlighting significant illustration and includes a history of the past issues on trading cards inserted in the back of the book.

American Illustration is a great resource for inspiration and documentation of 2006’s illustration climate. It also helped pioneer the one-image-per-page layout in the 80s, and has stuck with it – you won’t find any text other than illustrator’s names and contact info.

Photography buffs can also take note of sister publication, American Photography.
