After announcing a few weeks back on its blog that a new album, Prog, was due out on May 8, hard-hitting jazz trio The Bad Plus have posted cover art and new tour dates on its official website.
Set to hold ten songs, the album will also host four covers, a practice that the group has employed throughout its history. Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” Rush’s “Tom Sawyer,” David Bowie’s “Life on Mars,” and Burt Bacharach’s “This Guy’s in Love With You” get tonal makeovers this time around.
The piano-bass-drums combo recently signed to Heads Up International after having its last three full-length works released by Columbia.
