The founding member of Hieroglyphics is breaking his silence with a new full-length, titled The Eleventh Hour, set for release with Definitive Jux in early 2008 and following a collaborative tour headed by Del himself.

Alongside Del, the two-month-long tour, also named The Eleventh Hour (and not to be confused with the recent documentary), includes a line-up with fellow Hieroglyphics founder A-Plus, Devin the Dude with the Coughee Brothers, Bukue One, and The Serendipity Projects. Select performances from the tour will also feature Knobody and Junk Science.

The tour, which began last week and runs through mid-November, promises a mix of favored Del conventions alongside highly anticipated originals off the new album, including “Sit Down” and “Workin’ It.”

From his work with cousin Ice Cube to his guest spots with the Gorillaz, Del’s highly distinctive sound has been prominent since the early nineties. His reflective lyrics and creativity offer a glaring alternative to today’s mainstream hip hop. Expect nothing less with The Eleventh Hour, as Del has reportedly spent the last few years delving deep into both personal rumination and study of music theory.
