Estradasphere Set Release for Palace of Mirrors DVD

When obscenely talented classical/jazz/metal fusionists Estradasphere released Palace of Mirrors last year and toured in support, the six-piece outfit stated that live DVD accompaniment would follow. On October 2, The End Records will make good on that statement.

Palace of Mirrors, which culminated three years of studio work and marked an altered lineup, featured a larger focus on Romanian melodies, string quartets, and music befitting film scores. Though Estradasphere has long incorporated video projections into their performances, the group’s most recent album involved a patchwork storyline as well as additional lighting and psychedelic imagery.

The live DVD features multi-tracked audio from various performances, and includes an entire hour of second-set material that covered the likes of composers Frederic Chopin, Camille Saint-Saens, and Bernard Herrmann. The release also contains a short documentary on the studio production of Palace of Mirrors.

Estradasphere, which moved from Santa Cruz to Seattle at the end of July, will be featured in fall issue of ALARM Magazine.
