After selling a staggering 163,000 tickets in 24 hours for their June 6 & 7 stand at London’s Wembley Stadium, Foo Fighters have set their sights on America. The band has confirmed the bulk of their first American tour in support of their new album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace.
This will be the band’s biggest American tour to date and includes the Foos’ first-ever show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. As on their warm-up dates earlier this fall, core Foo Fighters Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett will be joined by Pat Smear on guitar, Rami Jaffee on keyboards, Drew Hester on percussion, and Jessy Greene on strings.
A limited quantity of premium tickets for a number of shows will be available only through Ticketmaster auctions. Auction proceeds will benefit local tree planting through TreeBank, an online donation system dedicated to urban-forest tree planting. Each auction will run for approximately two weeks following each show’s on-sale date, and TreeBank will distribute auction proceeds to local “branches” for tree planting in every community on the Foo Fighters tour.
