Genghis Tron to Record in August, Debut on Relapse

If you need some blast beats with your electronically infused, semi-ambient noise rock, then Genghis Tron is the band for you. The three-piece electro-grind outfit has announced that it will be recording at GodCity Studios with Kurt Ballou (Converge) in August for a forthcoming album on Relapse Records.

Its last release, 2006’s Dead Mountain Mouth on Crucial Blast, was also recorded by Ballou and helped establish a smoother balance between melodies, head-banging breakdowns, and tech riffs.

The group is playing South by Southwest on Friday night at Flamingo Cantina and is currently touring the country with psychedelic sludge rock act Kylesa (featured in ALARM’s upcoming spring issue).
