Unconventional Icelandic group Ghostigital and artist Finnbogi Petursson have announced the release of their unique performance record, Radium, which was recorded earlier this year at the Reykjavik Arts Festival.
Ghostigital began in 2003 as a solo project from Einar Örn Benediktsson (The Sugarcubes) under producer Curver Thoroddsen. After the solo album, the duo adopted the moniker and created In Cod We Trust, which was released by Ipecac Records in 2006.
Recorded through broadcast radio over four Iceland radio stations (the first broadcast of its kind), the sounds of Radium have only been available via the radio, even during the original festival performance. During that performance, festival attendees were given headphones and portable radios to hear the concert broadcast as they walked through the event.
Radium is now available through www.smekkleysa.net.
