The young singer will embark upon additional dates through May and mid-June following the release of Introducing Joss Stone, which has just topped 500,000 copies sold.
Sultry-voiced 19-year-old Joss Stone, whose second album of original material, Introducing Joss Stone, was released on March 20 and has been certified gold, has recently begun a series of periodic tour dates through the United States.
More importantly, however, is Stone’s decision to donate 100% of the proceeds of her “Tell Me What We’re Gonna Do Now” video on iTunes to Bono’s (RED) initiative. The program helps finance the fight of HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Stone’s upcoming performances are typically spread three days apart, and three of the 17 that have been scheduled will be for Canadian audiences.
Her album, a mixture of hip hop, soul, and 70s R&B, was created with the help of collaborator Raphael Saadiq (The Roots, Macy Gray). It also features contributions from Lauryn Hill and Common.
