This Saturday, July 28, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles will be shaken with rumbling, dissonant sounds of chaos — and hopefully not from an earthquake. Instead, randomized improvisational ensembles of local experimental veterans will take the stage at The Steve Allen Theater to create mountainous walls of noise.
The participating musicians, a collection that represents metal, hardcore, abstraction, and ambience, will be indiscriminately assembled to perform together for the first time. Included in the mixes will be noise artist Bob Bellerue (shown above, Redglaer), guitarist Bob Bruno (The For Carnation, Goliath Bird Eater), drummer Gabe Serbian (The Locust, Holy Molar), guitarist Troy Oftedal (Cattle Decapitation), David Scott Stone (The Melvins), synth builder Jessica Rylan (Can’t), and more.
The unique event is being arranged by sound., a project of The Society for the Activation of Social Space through Art and Sound (SASSAS). Tickets can be purchased at discounted rates in advance as well as for students and members of SASSAS.
