Though iconic vocalist Mike Patton seems omnipresent in the music world with his impressive history of bands and collaborations, he is most recently expanding his creative horizons to short film scoring.
Experimenting for the first time as a film composer, Patton’s work will accompany the upcoming film noir short A Perfect Place, a story about two blundering friends trying to dispose of a body. A dual-disc package, including the DVD of the film and Patton’s original score on CD, is set to be released and distributed in March via Ipecac Records.
Patton’s distinct, influential voice can also be heard in voice-over for the villainous creatures of I Am Legend, the highly anticipated post-apocalyptic film that opens today, December 14. His seemingly natural talent to produce evil screams and screeches will be obvious throughout the film.
The video-game industry will also continue working with Patton, following his previous vocal contributions to The Darkness and The Portal. Listen up for his vocal leads in Bionic Commando and his contributions to Left 4 Dead.
