Though Yakuza‘s last album, Samsara, was released just last March, the progressive noise metal veterans have already completed a new full-length disc titled Transmutations. What more could fans with short attention spans desire?
The Chicagoans’ poly-genre, saxophone-flavored style has garnered praise from across the musical spectrum and earned them shows with the likes of Isis, Sonic Youth, Ken Vandermark, and more. Transmutations, which will be released by Prosthetic Records on August 7, was recorded and produced by Sanford Parker (Pelican, Rwake, Minsk).
Yakuza‘s listening party for the new album will be at The Liar’s Club in Chicago on July 31.
