Count your blessings, Chicago and Austin: Volume 2 of the Fresh Picked Music Showcase is spotlighting post-metal favorites Russian Circles with free shows this weekend in both cities.
Catch them Thursday at Chicago’s Double Door, where they’ll be playing with fellow heavyweights These Arms Are Snakes and Holy Roman Empire.
Then the instrumental trio — touring for the time being with Brian Cook (of These Arms Are Snakes) on bass — will head down to Austin for another free show on Saturday, December 15th at Emo’s, Jr. These Arms Are Snakes will join Russian Circles in Austin, where they’ll again be joined by Fire vs. Extinguisher.
Russian Circles is at work on a new album, which is expected to be out in the late spring or early summer on Suicide Squeeze Records. New material will be debuted at this week’s shows.
Doors open at 8 pm at the Double Door (21+), 9 pm at Emo’s (18+).
