Scion Installation, an innovative art tour encouraging artistic expression, is making a stop in Miami for Art Basel on December 7. Scion’s fourth installment is titled It’s A Beautiful World.
Art Basel is the largest art event in the country, and gathers galleries, art collectors, artists, dealers, curators, critics, and art enthusiasts from around the globe. Most of the Scion Installation artists will be in attendance for the four-day event that begins this Thursday, December 6.
Scion Installation began in 2003 with works from exceptional contemporary artists. The idea is to publicize established and upcoming artists alike. The medium artists use to present their work has changed each year, ranging from sculptures to three-by-eight-foot wood panels.
Four mediums — painting, photography, sculpture, and collage — were used by artists to interpret this year’s theme. Six artists designed custom balloons, eight feet in circumference, that will fly over the grounds of the Raleigh Hotel. Another display will feature custom-designed Scion cars by Dalek, Sage Vaughn, and Ron English (work shown above).
The last tour stop will be in Los Angeles at the new Scion Installation L.A. space in the Culver City Arts District. All artwork will be auctioned off to the public and all proceeds will be donated to art-related charities.
