Shellac Establish Residency at Chicago’s Hideout

shellac-1.jpgGood news if you live in or around Chicago: Shellac will play six shows in four nights at The Hideout in December. Since the band’s last album, Excellent Italian Greyhound, the metallic-toned minimalist trio is sticking to its usual routine of casual and relaxed touring.

Released in June, Excellent Italian Greyhound combined Shellac’s traditional sounds with experimentation in song structure. Among the album’s unexpected guests were voice-over specialists Ken Nordine and Hal Douglas as well as homestarrunner.com’s Strong Bad character.

With Shellac’s two busy and highly regarded recording engineers, guitarist Steve Albini and bassist Bob Weston, the trio is notorious for using its calm and patchy tour schedule as a break away from daily work.

All shows are at The Hideout in Chicago.
Tickets are now on sale for $12 each.
