The Melvins, Big Business Hit the Road with a Space Monkey

The MelvinsSince their 2006 release of (A) Senile Animal, The Melvins seem to be bent on proving they are anything but. The sludge rock quartet will be touring around the country for over a month along with supporting act Big Business and a screening of A Purge of Dissidents, a series of animated shorts from visual artist Dalek.

Big Business, aka the newest members of The Melvins, recently opened on a tour for progressive rock poster-band Tool and released the full-length album Here Come the Waterworks in March of this year. The duo was featured and reviewed in ALARM’s spring issue.

A Purge of Dissidents, a series of ten animated shorts starring Dalek‘s Space Monkey, is set to music by Tom Hazelmeyer, or HAZEXXL. Also present on the score are instrumentals by The Melvins and Grant Hart of Hüsker Dü, which are greatly appreciated by the ALARM staff.
