Tool to Headline July 4 Date of Summerfest

The poster boys for progressive rock have 45 performances scheduled between Friday and mid-July. Officials for Milwaukee’s Summerfest, an 11-day music festival celebrating its fortieth anniversary, confirmed on Wednesday that prog rock masters Tool would headline its July 4 date at the Marcus Amphitheatre.

The band, which begins a lengthy U.S. tour this Friday, April 27, released its last album, 10,000 Days, in May of 2006. Tool’s tour extends through May and June and half of July.

Others performing at Summerfest include Femi Kuti, Roger Waters, Ben Folds, and El Gran Combo.
