Based on listeners’ feedback, Bono of U2 makes the BBC’s 6 Music list of the ten worst lyrical creations.
The search for the worst song lyrics was called “Taxing Lyrical.” 6 Music asked people to vote and vote they did. They were flooded with over 2500 suggestions. Marc Riley announced the winners – or should we say losers? – on his show on May 4th. Here are the songs that made listeners groan:
1. “Life” by Des’ree
2. “Rhythm is a Dance” by Snap
3. “Somewhere Else” by Razorlight
4. “That Was Then But This is Now” by Razorlight
5. “Elevation” by U2
6. “Africa” by Toto
7. “Champagne Supernova” by Oasis
8. “Is There Something I Should Know” by Duran Duran
9. “The Lebanon” by Human League
10. “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath
