Acting as more than a contest or competition, the Independent Music Awards help selected artists promote, market, and distribute their music. That help will be given in 2008 to the winners of their seventh annual selection, who were recently announced.
Fifty-one winners were announced in categories that span albums, songs, design, and music video. Among the winners were Marco Benevento (live performance album), Alasdair White (world traditional album), and The Apples in Stereo (pop/rock song).
