Zombi Half Goes Solo

ZombiSlicing a zombie in half doesn’t usually have the results one desires. Splitting up one half of progressive soundscape artists Zombi, however, should prove to be a significantly more enjoyable experience.

And that’s just what Relapse Records will facilitate this October as it releases the debut solo album from Zombi bassist/programmer Steve Moore. The group, characterized by its quickly moving ’80s synth sounds and horror/sci-fi vibe, consists of Moore and drummer A.E. Paterra and has already issued two discs through Relapse.

As already proven by clips of “Cepheid” and “The Henge” on his MySpace page, Moore‘s solo material bears a great similarity to the compositions of Zombi. His forthcoming album, also titled The Henge, is set for release in late October.

There is not yet word on when a new Zombi release may come to fruition, but Paterra has kept busy by adding percussion to recent live sets of psychedelic rockers Midnite Snake.
