For the Toronto hardcore punk band, Fucked Up, it has been anything but a frivolous year. In January the band filed suit against Rolling Stone Magazine and Camel Cigarettes; in late May they finished recording for a forthcoming LP; on June 13th they announced signing to Matador Records. Now the band has announced that they are set to release an accompanying EP entitled, The Year of The Pig, on July 22nd. Pig, which contains two tracks, is an epic 18 minute EP that will serve as a prelude for Fucked Up‘s upcoming LP, The Chemistry of Common Life. The disc is scheduled to be released worldwide, October 7 on Matador Records and contains two notable guest performances by Katie Stelmanis and the Vivian Girls and Max McCabe-Locos (the Deadly Snakes). In addition to these releases, Fucked Up will also be touring Canada and Europe this summer (see below for full list of appearances).
