Bring your earplugs! Chicago’s own Pelican, avant-garde metalmakers Kayo Dot and ex-Cave In singer Stephen Brodsky (as Stove Brodsky) join forces for this fall’s Champions of Sound Tour, proudly presented by Hydra Head Records.
Select dates in Boston, New York, and Philadelphia also feature Zozobra, who’s latest album Birds of Prey has been on chronic rotation at ALARM HQ since its release this August. Kayo Dot and Stove Brodsky will be touring in support of their spring release Blue Lambency Downward and Black Ribbon Award, respectively.
According to their website, Pelican has been taking it easy over the summer, but along with the Champions tour, the four-piece will tour Europe with Torche, release a split 10″ with These Arms are Snakes, plus a split 7″ with Louisville punk rockers Young Widows slated for a 2009 release on Temporary Residence.
