Inspired by daily Brazilian routine, from urban life to folklore, Os Gemeos create a brightly colored dream world filled with yellow skinned, surreal characters through the use of paint and extremely detailed graffiti.
And although they are most recognizable for this street work, they also have had gigs painting the outside of the Tate Modern in London and coloring a mural originally painted by Keith Haring in New York.
Vertigo showcases all of these inspirations, proving that Os Gemeos are as comfortable painting on canvas and wood as they are cement and brick walls. The duo even incorporate everyday objects into the exhibition through the use of, among other things, a drum kit, guitars and keyboards.
