Merge, the NC-based indie label that celebrates its 20th birthday this year, will release a new 7” by Chapel Hill pop rockers Superchunk on July 7, and a 12” vinyl EP by Dan Bejar‘s Destroyer on August 18.

Both vinyls will include new songs, including “Bay of Pigs,” Destroyer’s 13-minute account of the 1961 American invasion of Cuba. It’s the band’s longest song to date, and its first foray into disco.

Bejar, who also records and performs with the New Pornographers, will take Destroyer on a short East Coast tour from the end of July until the beginning of August.
