Cursive @ Schubas (Chicago)
Fans of Cursive’s anticipated 2009 release have to keep waiting, but the foreboding indie rockers tide them over with a stint of Midwestern tour dates. The group’s melodic and dissonant mixture of rock songs translate well to a live setting, particularly heavy hitters like “Big Bang” and “Art is Hard.”
If you’re in or around Chicago, you’d do well to see the group in Schubas’ sweet acoustical setting. A score of openers joins Cursive for the venue’s Tomorrow Never Knows 2009 five-day series.
