Animal Collective to screen visual album ODDSAC at IFC Theater in NYC

Coming off the success of Merriweather Post Pavilion, Animal Collective is set to release ODDSAC, its collaboration with filmmaker Danny Perez (known for his concert projections with musicians such as Black Dice and Panda Bear). According to the press release, “ODDSAC is a dense and surreal layering of audio and visual elements that eschews conventional narrative to create a visceral, immersive experience.”

The film took more than four years to develop and features an original score with new songs from the band and digital manipulation by Perez. The songs on ODDSAC will not be released in any other form, so get yourself to the screenings in New York on August 6 and 7, or snag a copy of the DVD when it becomes available October 10, 2010.

The DVD includes:

  • The 53-minute film, with new songs and score by Animal Collective
  • 40-page hardcover art book in a slipcover case
  • Dolby 2.0 stereo and 5.1 surround sound audio
