Legendary jazz composer/trumpeter Bill Dixon has passed away at the age of 84. (Read his obituary here.) This news comes only a few days after Chicago jazz icon Fred Anderson, owner of the Velvet Lounge, suffered a heart attack and was reported to be in a drug-induced coma.
