On August 2, Ninja Tune will release Tomorrow, the label’s debut single from UK folk artist Jono McCleery. Featuring collaborations with artist Vashti Bunyan, producer Fybe, and arranger Matt Kelly, McCleery’s creations feature a balmy voice gliding over plucked guitar and bass, harp, and programmed percussion.
Supporters such as Danny Thompson, Fiona Talkington, and BBC radio DJ Tom Robinson lends their talents to the debut. McCleery’s talents as musician and songwriter are on display on Tomorrow and have drawn him comparisons to artists such as John Martyn, Nick Drake, and Jeff Buckley.
