On April 24, the Scion Installation LA gallery will completely transform into a hodgepodge ranch displaying creatively arranged rooms from eight unique artists.
Rooms features artists Kime Buzzelli, Adam Wallacavage, Dueling VHS, Chris Stain, Bill Daniel, Justin Van Hoy, Rocky Grimes, and creative duo Dan Monick and Caitlin Reilly. Each member of the unlikely group has been assigned a space with the task of designing a room of his or her choice to exhibit work, ultimately creating a one-story home complete with a same-level basement, bedrooms of several teenagers, and a bus stop with portraits of passengers and surrounding scenes installed in light boxes.
The creations include a wood-panel basement with TVs playing Dueling VHS’ episodes, the room of a 1990s NBA fanatic, and a guest room adorned with ornate wallpaper and equally intricate chandeliers.
Currated by Roger Gastman, of Swindle and While You Were Sleeping, the installations are set to run through May 15 with an opening reception on April 24, 2010.
