Available now exclusively to ALARM readers, here’s a preview of Swedish psych-rock band Graveyard‘s second full-length album before its April 19 release date.
Graveyard’s first album, a self-titled 2008 release, introduced audiences to its pitch-perfect classic-rock-revival sound. The new album, Hisingen Blues, was produced, recorded, and mixed entirely in analog by Don Alsterberg (José Gonzales, Junip, Soundtrack Of Our Lives, The International Noise Conspiracy) in the band’s hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Vocalist Joakim Nilsson channels his inner Chris Cornell, wailing over chunky, squealing guitar riffs that sound like they’ve blasted through a wormhole straight from the ’70s. Tight production and a commanding swagger make this rollicking retro freight train far more than a mere retread.
