Contest: Win tickets to see Beirut at Chicago’s Congress Theater

What are you doing on Monday, September 26? How about going to see Beirut and Stereolab‘s Laetitia Sadier perform at the Congress? We’re giving away two pairs of tickets, and all you have to do to win is to sign up for our E-mail newsletter below.

Santa Fe-based multi-instrumentalist Zach Condon and his merry band of Balkan popsters just released their third full-length, The Rip Tide. While it touches on familiar Beirut elements — lounge-y crooning, a bevy of brass — it’s also more straightforwardly Western, having cut back on the bells and whistles of Eastern European folk.

Joining Condon and co. at the Congress is French indie-pop artist Laetitia Sadier. Sadier will be playing material from her 2010 solo debut, The Trip, and La Piscine, a recently released collaborative album featuring Rebecca Gates and Richard Swift, among other artists.

Update: Contest has ended.
