“On February 13 of 2011, I will turn 50 years of age,” says punk-rock veteran Henry Rollins. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime occasion than by doing some shows. Hopefully, I will be able to evince some imperfect pearls of ancient wisdom to the audience, having made it this far.”
After celebrating his birthday with a pair of sold-out shows at National Geographic Live! in DC, the indefatigable Rollins will embark on a national tour, fittingly titled “50.” It kicks off March 17 at the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and continues through mid-April. Tickets go on sale today, January 28.
Prior to the launch of “50,” Rollins will join neuroscientist David Eagleman on February 7 in New York for “The Assassin Of My Dreams,” as part of the “Brainwave 2011” series of conversations on dreams. You can also catch Rollins on National Geographic‘s “Snake Underworld,” his weekly KCRW radio show, his “Straight Talk Espresso” blog at VanityFair.com, and on LA Weekly’s “West Coast Sound” blog.
