With a sound as much influenced by hip-hop legends like Wu Tang Clan and Dead Prez as it is by hardcore and punk, New Jersey-based rapper GDP is in a genre of his own. On this exclusive ALARM premiere, GDP’s delivery, reminiscent of fellow underground rhymer Aesop Rock, is coupled with a nutty beat that sounds like it’s falling apart as it lurches along.

His upcoming sophomore full-length, Useless Eaters, was recorded, mixed, and mastered with frequent collaborator Pistol while on a 52-date national tour. Ten of the 11 tracks are produced by Australian beat-smiths: eight by Aoi and two others by DOS4GW. Guests on the record include Young Zee (The Outsidaz) and Tame One (Artifacts). Watch for its release on Run for Cover Records on March 29.
