“White Kane”
With its new EP, Louisville, Kentucky’s Wax Fang offers four pop-rock tunes that draw from decade-spanning influences. “White Kane,” today’s premiere, has a bit of a retro flavor mixed with post-punk simplicity — capped by a one-word vocal hook and a rock-‘n’-roll solo.
Though the group’s recording output might not reflect its cited influences — which include Black Sabbath, The Arcade Fire, and Philip Glass — it’s clear that Wax Fang is musically omnivorous.
