Wires Under Tension: “Landscape Architecture”
With a title and album cover evocative of Ridley Scott’s 1982 dystopian classic Blade Runner, Wires Under Tension’s second album, Replicant, wears its neon-soaked aesthetic proudly. The brainchild of violinist/multi-instrumentalist Christopher Tignor and drummer Theo Metz, it’s a mix of life and digitization, a soundscape built through crashing drumbeats, cascading synths, and looped performance.
“Landscape Architecture” builds a fat beat for tinkling bell melodies, transforming timbres, and Battles-esque hoots, tweets, and skirls. It’s a wild, futuristic groove for a world where cybernetic organisms rule the dance floor.
Replicant, which is out in two weeks, can be pre-ordered here.
