In case you missed it, Russian feminist punk collective Pussy Riot got in hot water on Feb. 21 after storming a Moscow church altar and playing a song called “Holy Shit” with the lyric “Mother of God, send Putin away.” Now three members are on trial in Russia for the “crimes” and face up to seven years in prison.

The prosecutors claim that the accused “inflicted substantial damage to the sacred values of the Christian ministry…infringed upon the sacramental mystery of the Church…[and] humiliated in a blasphemous way the age-old foundations of the Russian Orthodox Church.”

Yes…the “sacramental mystery.”
