Video director The Druid Beat to show short film, perform improv soundtrack at LA residency

Last fall, we presented a book called Chromatic: The Crossroads of Color and Music, featuring musicians and artists who were merging the two realms in amazing ways. Among our featured bands was YAWN, whose neon-spectacle video for “Kind of Guy” was directed by the enigmatic artist known as The Druid Beat.

Two weekends from now, Mr. Beat begins a residency at Los Angeles’ Space 15 Twenty. There he’ll show his new short film, One Thousand Chemical Hypotheses Concerning the Subterranean Realms, while he creates an improvised soundtrack.

The opening reception is Friday, February 24 at 7 PM PST, and the film will show at the same time on each subsequent Friday through March.

If that’s not enough, a number of special guests will perform each Friday after the premiere, including sets by YAWN, Mini Mansions, MASXS, and Random Patterns. Check out the trailer below and make your plans!
