After a successful Kickstarter campaign and months of preparation, Seattle-based sludge-rock trio Helms Alee has debuted its latest video, “8/16,” off its sophomore release, Weatherhead (Hydra Head, 6/21/11). The video, which premieres today on Vevo, shows the band in Beavis and Butthead-style animation alongside live-action shots, parodying music videos from the ’80s and ’90s while running the gamut from Alice in Chains to NWA, Metallica, Temple of the Dog, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers — and about a half-dozen others.
