High on Fire: De Vermis Mysteriis (Entertainment One, 4/3/12)
In April, sludge-metal trio High on Fire unleashed a behemoth new album, De Vermis Mysteriis, that floored fans old and new. Now here’s the video for “Fertile Green,” amazing in its ridiculousness, that follows “Balteazeen, the Christ Twin” as he slaughters crow people to reach some sort of Goddess of the Sticky-Icky. It’s a mini-masterpiece of psychedelic sci-fi.
