Watch Buzz Osborne, Nick Zinner, and other punk vets ruminate in 10-min Retox doc

In a video documentation of its new album, hardcore-punk outfit Retox (along with friends Buzz Osborne, Nick Zinner, and Trevor Dunn) ruminates about endless touring, pouring out emotions on stage, and the magic of music.

Retox: YPLL (Epitaph, 5/28/13)

“You kind of have to ruin your life to be in a punk band,” says Justin Pearson, singer for hardcore-punk outfits Retox and The Locust, within the opening moments of Retox’s new documentary. Speaking to the travails of doing what you love instead of what you’re “supposed to,” he and his bandmates — as well as high-profile guests Buzz Osborne (Melvins), Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), and Trevor Dunn (Tomahawk) — talk about endless touring, pouring out emotions on stage, and the magic of music.

The full documentary, coming later on alarm-magazine.com, is available with the purchase of YPLL, the band’s assailing sophomore album that’s sure to be one of our favorites of the week.
