To aid New Global Citizens‘ efforts to end world poverty, ALARM is sponsoring an art and music exhibition titled Who is Mr. Brown? at San Francisco’s 111 Minna Gallery this Friday, August 10.
Running from 9 pm to 2 am, the exhibit features works inspired by Bob Marley song “Mr. Brown.” ALARM illustrator Ferris Plock (“1st Cityscape Piece” shown above) and photographer Becca Henry, the later of whom shot our Lil Bit o’ Naughty photoessay on cabaret, vaudeville, and burlesque in San Francisco, are among seventeen artists that will have work displayed during DJ sets. Fellow exhibitors Binh Danh and Sara Thustra have also been featured in the pages of ALARM Magazine.
In addition to helping an inspired cause and catching all sorts of great artists and ALARM contributors, attendees will have the opportunity to win raffle prizes and be treated to free copies of our summer issue. All proceeds from the $5 cover and sale of art will go to New Global Citizens.
