AhCold Fact, the record that almost wasn’t, is finally here. Recorded nearly four decades ago with the legendary Motown players The Funk Bros. and dripping with the same psychedelic charm from the late 60’s when it was recorded, Rodriguez‘s debut Cold Fact has been fully reissued and is now ready to be heard by the masses for the first time here in the US. Though the Detroit guitarist is a household name in other countries and as popular as the Doors or Jimi Hendrix, Rodriguez was never able to make it here in the US. Recently, ALARM caught up with Rodriguez and learned about the unfortunate events that kept this record silent for nearly forty years. To hear the whole story, be sure to check out his feature in our upcoming issue this September. Also be sure to enjoy the streamable MP3 below for the Cold Fact track “Sugar Man.” Cold Fact is available everywhere on Light In The Attic Records.
