Rapper Ill Bill never has shied away from controversial material, dealing with school shootings on his debut solo album and racism on the provocatively titled “White Nigger.” Now he’s giving us “Exploding Octopus,” a new single from upcoming album The Grimy Awards that details the life of Unabomber Ted Kaczynski.
The song is broken down in a clinical fashion, with Bill rapping hypotheticals at the listener alongside a reenactment of Kaczynski’s crimes and arrest. It’s not “easy” listening or viewing, but it proves Mr. Bill’s penchant for thought-provoking subject matter.
