Following a battle with cancer, famed visual artist Storm Thorgerson has passed away at the age of 69. The album artist was probably best known for his work on Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, and as a childhood friend of the band, Thorgerson was responsible for many of the striking photos and designs that appeared on its records.
Thorgerson worked with many other big-name groups as well, creating surrealist masterpieces for the likes of The Mars Volta, Muse, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin.
