Revolutionary Electronic Act Kraftwerk to Play Four Rare US Concerts
Florian Schneider (flutes, synthesizers, electro-violin) and Ralf Hütter (electronic organ, synthesizers) founded Kraftwerk in Germany in 1970. Kraftwerk went on to revolutionize electronic and popular music across the world. The group has not played live since 2006 but will play four USA dates this April. They will be joined by current members Fritz Hilpert and Henning Schmitz.
Video: Saving Abel Releases Uncensored Video With Help From Playboy.com
The Memphis, TN band Saving Abel has released an uncensored video for their single “Addicted” with the help of Playboy.com. The single is a mix of mall and country rock, but with the help of some topless Playboy models, might hold your attention for a view or two. The band is currently on tour with label-mates Sick Puppies and their self-titled debut, produced by Skidd Mills (12 Stones, Saliva, Submersed), hits stores today, March 11th.

The New York Times recently published an online interactive tour of this year’s Whitney Biennial art exhibit. The exhibit takes place in more than three floors and is documented here in 360-degree panoramic photos, exhibit maps, and audio by Holland Cotter, an art critic for The Times.
Chicago Composer Forum Performance with the Zhou Brothers
On Saturday, March 8, 2008, the Chicago Composer’s Forum (CCF) hosted New Music Plus Painting at Columbia College. The free performance by composers Nathan Davis, Guillermo Gregorio, Ryan Ingebritsen, Christopher Preissing, and the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) happened simultaneously as Chicago’s Shan Zhou and DaHuang Zhou, better knows at the Zhou Brothers (and the kind owners of the Zhou B Center, which hosted our Printers’ Ball last year), painted a large scale canvas.

Laurie Lipton was born in New York. She was the first person to graduate from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pennsylvania with a Fine Arts Degree in Drawing (with honors). She has lived in Holland, Belgium, Germany and France and has made her home in London since 1986.
Laurie Lipton has had numerous one woman shows in England, Belgium, Holland and America. She was previously represented by the prestigious Vorpal Gallery, and has had her work exhibited in both New York & San Francisco. She recently had a major retrospective show at the Chamber of Pop Culture. Lipton has had three fine art books published on her work and was recently featured in the show “High on Life” at the American Visionary Art Museum.
