Sexy Time: A Group Effort

Morgan Lehman Gallery will present Sexy Time: A Group Effort, a group mixed-media exhibition. This exhibition “attempts to address the multiple ways we filter, confront, and communicate sexuality through humor and satirical means.”

Artists participating include Susan Anderson, Richard Colman, Chrissy Conant, Franklin Evans, James Gobel, Kris Knight, Sabrina Marques, James Merrell, Matthew Palladino, and Randy Polumbo.

Dangerbird Records Presents “Modern 56”

Four bands from Dangerbird Record, Darker My Love, One AM Radio, Dappled Cities, and Eulogies have recorded songs originally released in 1956. Recorded at Lone Palm Studios, in Los Angeles, the songs are part of a promotion by PF Flyers and are available for free download below.

Liz Phair To Perform Exile In Guyville, Reissue

To mark its 15th year anniversary, Exile In Guyville will be reissued on June 24th (ATO records) and will include three unreleased B-Sides and Guyville Redux DVD. Liz Phair will perform the entire album on June 25th at Hiro Ballroom in New York, with similar events planned for Chicago and San Francisco.

Wes Lang: Are You Ready For The Country?

Wes Lang’s solo show, Are You Ready For The Country?, is his third at ZieherSmith Gallery. His work has also been seen in exhibitions in Berlin at Peres Projects; in New York at Alexander and Bonin, Greenberg Van Doren, and Andrea Rosen Gallery; in Athens at the Deste Foundation and Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Centre; among others.

Firewater Announce Tour Dates

The Explorers Club Announce Tour With Lightspeed Champion

The Explorers ClubCharleston, South Carolina-based band The Explorers Club will hit the road in North America this summer with Lightspeed Champion and Flowers Forever in support of their new album, Freedom Wind (Dead Oceans). Material from the new album is streaming on the group’s Freedom Wind muxtape in anticipation for the album’s May 20th release.

Epitaph Announces Re-issues of Smash and Ignition by Offspring

Epitaph will be re-issuing 1992’s Ignition and 1994’s Smash by Offspring on June 17th.

Smash has sold over 11 million copies worldwide. The release continues to hold the title of best-selling independently released album of all time. The Offspring have sold over 34 million albums in their career.

Camper Van Beethoven Announce 25th Anniversary Show, Greatest Hits Album

Camper Van Beethoven announced their 25th anniversary show at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA on June 28th. Click here to buy tickets.

The group will issue a greatest hits set, Popular Songs, June 24 via Cooking Vinyl. The album will include some of the group’s most well-known material, such as “Border Ska” and the college radio classic “Take The Skinheads Bowling.” The group re-recorded five songs from their major-label days, specifically 1988’s Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart and 1989’s Key Lime Pie, when they were unable to purchase the masters from their former label, Virgin.

Harvey Milk have anounced their new album The Best Game In Town, out June 3rd on Hydra Head.

After making their debut with 1994’s My Love Is Higher Than Your Assessment Of What My Love Could Be, Athens (GA) Harvey Milk recorded two more full-lengths (1995’s Courtesy And Good Will Towards Men and 1997’s The Pleaser) before disbanding in 1998.

Martha Wainwright Announces Tour, New Album

Singer songwriter Martha Wainwright (yes, her brother is Rufus) will be touring with KT Tunstall starting this August. The tour will be in support of Martha’s forthcoming album, I Know You’re Married But I’ve Got Feelings Too which Zoe/Rounder will release on June 10.
