Concert Photos: Against Me! @ Congress Theater (Chicago, IL)

After weathering a tumultuous 2010 in which it left its first major label, picked up a new drummer (Jay Weinberg, The E Street Band), and canceled an entire tour, Floridian punk band Against Me! is as strong as ever. It’s currently on tour in support of its last album, White Crosses, and is preparing material for a new release on indie label Fat Wreck Chords later this year. ALARM contributing photographer Elizabeth Gilmore snapped these shots of the band during its recent stop at the Congress Theater in Chicago.

Concert Photos: Motörhead @ Congress Theater (Chicago, IL)

When seminal British metal band Motörhead comes to town, people still pay attention. Thirty-six years after forming, and with only one of its founding members still rocking (Lemmy), the band sold out a recent gig at the massive Congress Theater in Chicago. Its 20th studio album, The Wörld Is Yours, came out late last year, and though it’s not really breaking any new ground, it’s still as fun as ever. Contributing photographer Tracy Graham snapped these shots of the band that’s just far too metal for the effects of things like time and age.

Concert Photos: Wu-Tang Clan @ Congress Theater (Chicago, IL)

Everyone’s favorite original rap super-group Wu-Tang Clan rolled through Chicago over the weekend to perform a set in the Congress Theater. Though its individual members have each gone on to do a number of other things, including RZA‘s foray into Hollywood and recent work on Kanye West‘s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, it’s nice to see them unite forces once in a while. Concert Photos: Pretty Lights & Major Lazer @ Congress Theater (Chicago, IL)

The palatial Congress Theater in Chicago knows how to throw a New Year’s Eve celebration. Last year, Girl Talk rang in 2010 to a packed house. This year, electronic heavyweights Pretty Lights and the Diplo / DJ Switch collaboration Major Lazer were called upon to soundtrack one of the night’s biggest parties. The DJs (and Lazer’s hype-man Skerrit Bwoy) kept things uptempo, blasting another sold-out crowd with deep bass, hip-hop beats, and turntable theatrics. Photographer Tracy Graham attended the show and captured these great photos.
